HOW TO USE
WHEN SHOULD I USE THIS PRODUCT? Use it daily, AM and PM. Your consistent barrier-boosting essential. Apply after serums and before SPF in the morning. Not sure how to layer everything? Read our complete skincare routine guide here.
CAN IT BE USED IN THE SAME ROUTINE AS RETINOL & VITAMIN C? Yes. Use Vitamin C in the AM, Retinol in the PM, and layer Bio-Active Ceramide Moisturiser on top in both routines. The ceramides help buffer any dryness or irritation from Retinol - read more on what not to mix with Retinol here.
ARE THERE ACTIVES THIS PRODUCT SHOULDN'T BE USED WITH IN THE SAME ROUTINE? None. It plays well with all actives and fits easily into any AM or PM routine - read our full guide to layering skincare actives safely here.
IS IT REPLACING RETINOL IN A DAILY ROUTINE? Nope. Use them together. Apply Retinol first, then follow with Bio-Active Ceramide Moisturiser.
IS IT REPLACING PEPTIDE MOISTURISER IN A DAILY ROUTINE? They're different but complementary. Peptides signal your skin to produce more collagen and elastin. Bio-Active Ceramides repair and strengthen your barrier. Use this as your daily moisturiser and add a peptide serum if anti-ageing is your main goal.
CAN I USE MAKEUP ON TOP OF IT? Yes. 88% said it didn't pill and left a smooth base for makeup. Let it absorb for 30–60 seconds before layering makeup or SPF.
DOES IT HAVE SPF? No SPF in this formula. For full protection, follow with a broad-spectrum sunscreen like our Dewy SPF 30 in the AM.
CAN I USE BIO-ACTIVE CERAMIDE MOISTURISER AS AN EYE CREAM? Yes. You can apply a small amount around the eye area - just be gentle. Want to target specific eye concerns? Try Caffeine Eye Cream for puffiness and dark circles, or Retinol Eye Cream for lines in your PM routine.

INGREDIENTS & FORMULA
WHAT IS A BIO-ACTIVE CERAMIDE? Bio-Active Ceramides go deeper. Unlike traditional ceramides, their shorter chain structure helps them penetrate multiple layers of the skin - delivering real barrier repair and visible results. Firmer, smoother, stronger skin from the inside out - read more on how Bio-Active Ceramides compare to regular ceramides here.
WHAT DOES BIO-ACTIVE MEAN? 'Bio-active' means this ingredient does more than sit pretty - it gets to work. It's active within the skin, targeting specific processes to deliver visible, skin-changing results.
WHAT ARE CERAMIDES? Ceramides are lipids that naturally occur in the skin. Think of them as the glue holding skin cells together - they keep your barrier strong and your skin protected. Traditional ceramides sit on the surface and support the outermost layer - read more on how Bio-Active Ceramides compare to regular ceramides here.
DO CERAMIDES REALLY HELP REPAIR THE SKIN BARRIER? Yes - and the science is solid. When ceramide levels drop (ageing, harsh products, cold weather, over-exfoliation), your barrier weakens. Topical ceramides replenish what's lost, restoring your skin's ability to hold onto moisture and fend off irritants. Our Bio-Active Ceramide NP is clinically proven to strengthen the skin barrier from first use - learn more about why your barrier loses moisture here.
HOW DOES THIS COMPARE TO OTHER CERAMIDE MOISTURISERS? Most ceramide creams sit on the skin's surface. Ours doesn't. Bio-Active Ceramide NP penetrates multiple skin layers, delivering repair from within. Independent clinical studies show up to 4x greater visible fine line and wrinkle reduction vs a standard ceramide formulation - see the full comparison here.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CERAMIDES AND HYALURONIC ACID - DO I NEED BOTH? They do different jobs. Hyaluronic acid draws water into the skin. Ceramides seal the barrier and stop that water from escaping. Use both: apply Hyaluronic Acid Serum first on damp skin, then layer Bio-Active Ceramide Moisturiser on top to lock it all in - find out if hyaluronic acid is right for you here.
WHAT IS THE TEXTURE LIKE? Rich but never heavy. The velvety cream melts into skin and delivers instant, weightless hydration. No greasy finish. Just smooth, pill-free layering under SPF or makeup.
IS IT OIL-FREE? No. This formula uses nourishing ingredients to repair and protect your barrier - oil included. Need something fully oil-free? Try Omega Water Cream.
IT HAS SHEA BUTTER IN IT-IS IT NON-COMEDOGENIC? Yes. It's clinically tested to be non-comedogenic, meaning it won't clog pores or cause breakouts. All ingredients meet the non-comedogenic standard.
IS THIS NON-COMEDOGENIC? Yes.
WHY IS IT IN A JAR, NOT A TUBE? The rich texture works best in a jar - easier to scoop, less waste, more accessible. We tested it thoroughly to ensure freshness and performance for 6 months post-opening. Just apply with clean, dry hands.
WHY DID YOU CHANGE PEPTIDE FROM A JAR, BUT NOW BIO-ACTIVE IS IN A JAR? Peptide Moisturiser's lighter texture works better in a tube - and we didn't have a sustainable jar option back then. Bio-Active's richer texture needs a jar, and this one's made with 65% PCR plastic.
IS THIS PRODUCT VEGAN? Yes. Certified by The Vegan Society and free from animal-derived ingredients.
IS IT VEGAN, CRUELTY-FREE AND SUSTAINABLE? Yes on all counts. Certified by The Vegan Society, Leaping Bunny approved and packaged in 65% PCR plastic. INKEY is also a certified B Corp and Carbon Net-Zero company.
