A familiar skincare ingredient, Ceramides are known for their ability to form the key building blocks of a healthy skin barrier, but traditionally Ceramides are longer chain molecules which work on the outermost layers of the skin.

WHAT IS A BIO-ACTIVE CERAMIDE?
Bio-Active Ceramides take the traditional Ceramide to the next level. Going beyond barrier repair, Bio-Active Ceramides help reset, strengthen, and protect the skin through multiple layers. Engineered with a novel short chain structure, the ingredient facilitates deeper penetration and provides dual action targeting for both the outer and deeper layers of the skin’s surface.

WHAT IS THE TEXTURE LIKE?
In developing this product, we have challenged ourselves to create a perfectly balanced texture. The velvety-like rich formula sinks immediately into the skin and gives an instant feeling of weightless hydration without feeling greasy, it's also ideal to apply underneath SPF and makeup in the day.

IT HAS SHEA BUTTER IN IT - IS IT NON-COMEDOGENIC?
Yes, Bio-Active Ceramide Repairing and Plumping Moisturizer is clinically proven to be non-comedogenic. All ingredients are also confirmed non-comedogenic by the manufacturer.

WHAT DOES BIO-ACTIVE MEAN?
The term 'bioactive' means that the ingredient is 'active' within the skin, encourages the skin to 'act differently' and targets a specific mechanism of the skin to give visible results. This means that the ingredient is readily available for the body to use without any need for the body to convert it in any way.

CAN I USE MAKEUP ON TOP OF IT?
Yes, 88% agree it didn’t pill under makeup and created a smooth base for makeup. As with all skincare layering, we recommend leaving 30-60 seconds between layers to allow time for skincare to absorb.

DOES IT HAVE SPF?
No, this formula does not contain SPF. We recommend using an SPF as the final step in your skincare routine, such as our Polyglutamic Acid Dewy SPF30.

WHY IS IT NOT IN A TUBE? / WHY IS IT IN A JAR?
Due to the rich, velvety texture of the formula, packaging in a jar created a better experience for customers and improves accessibility to help minimise any potential product waste. The formula has undergone testing to ensure it remains stable and effective for 6 months post-opening and continues to deliver incremental benefits over time. As with all products we recommend applying any skincare with clean, dry hands.

WHAT ARE THE MAIN BENEFITS I CAN EXPECT TO SEE FROM THIS PRODUCT?

IS IT SUITABLE FOR OILY/BREAKOUT-PRONE SKIN?
The formula is suitable for oily, breakout-prone, combination, normal and dry skin types. It has been clinically tested and is proven to be non-comedogenic, therefore won't cause breakouts or clog pores. It is also proven to be suitable for sensitive skin. The formula has a richer texture so if you prefer a lightweight option try Omega Water Cream. Everyone's skin is different, so we would always recommend patch testing any new products to ensure they are suitable for you.

IS IT GOOD FOR SENSITIVE SKIN?
Yes, tested and proven to be suitable for sensitive skin.

IS IT GOOD FOR REDNESS?
The formula doesn’t contain any ingredients which would directly help to target or counteract redness however it will help to soothe and comfort skin. If you are looking to reduce the appearance of redness, we recommend trying Niacinamide Serum or SuperSolutions Azelaic Acid.

IS IT OIL-FREE?
No. We formulated Bio-Active Ceramide Moisturiser as a rich and nourishing cream to help repair and protect the barrier while targeting 6 signs of aging and so the ingredients we selected support that. The formula is suitable for all skin types and is clinically tested to be non-comedogenic. If you are looking for an oil-free moisturiser, try Omega Water Cream.

IS IT REPLACING RETINOL IN A DAILY ROUTINE?
No. Bio-Active Ceramide Moisturiser can be used in the same PM routine as Retinol Serum. Apply your Retinol Serum first then layer with Bio-Active Ceramide Moisturizer.

CAN IT BE USED IN THE SAME ROUTINE AS RETINOL & VITAMIN C?
Yes. Bio-Active Ceramide Moisturiser can be used in the same routine as Retinol Serum and Vitamin C. We recommend only using Retinol as part of the PM routine and Vitamin C as part of the AM routine.

ARE THERE ACTIVES THIS PRODUCT SHOULDN'T BE USED WITH IN THE SAME ROUTINE?
No. All the ingredients are suitable for daily use, can be used as part of the AM and PM routine and can be used alongside any other The INKEY List skincare.

WHY DID YOU CHANGE PEPTIDE FROM A JAR, BUT NOW BIO-ACTIVE IS IN A JAR?
As a business we took the decision to change Peptide Moisturiser from a jar due to being unable to find a suitable, sustainable option at the time. Peptide Moisturiser’s lightweight formulation is also more suited to a tube format. Packaging innovation continues to develop and when it came to researching packaging options for Bio-Active Ceramide Moisturiser, we were able to source a much more sustainable jar packaging option, using 65% PCR.

CAN I USE BIO-ACTIVE CERAMIDE MOISTURISER AS AN EYE CREAM?
Bio-Active Ceramide Moisturiser may be used around the eye contour. If using, we recommend applying a small amount on/around the eye contour. As the formula is quite rich, apply a small amount and gently massage into the skin (as the skin around the eyes is thinner/more delicate). If you have specific concerns you wish to target on the eye contour/undereye, such as darkness/puffiness we’d recommend using our Caffeine Eye Cream, and if you have fine lines/wrinkles we’d recommend our Retinol Eye Cream in your PM routine.

IS THIS PRODUCT VEGAN? 
Yes! This product contains no animal derivatives and is now certified by The Vegan Society.
