FAQ's Vitamin C 30%

This serum has been formulated using Vitamin C in its pure form, L-ascorbic acid, for a low irritation, stable product. If you're new to Vitamin C, or have more sensitive skin, we recommend mixing with other serums, such as Hyaluronic Acid, to build up your skin's tolerance.

WHEN SHOULD I USE THIS?

Vitamin C can be used both in the AM and the PM. For maximum effectiveness as an antioxidant we suggest using in the AM, as this is when you will get the most out of the product.

CAN I USE IT AT NIGHT?

Yes you can! it is most beneficial during the day due to the antioxidant properties but you can certainly use it in the PM too if you prefer

WHAT SHOULD I KNOW WHEN USING THIS PRODUCT IN MY ROUTINE?

Always wear sunscreen during the day. Vitamin C does not increase sun sensitivity and can protect against free radicals, however it does not provide sun protection and must be combined with a sunscreen.

IS THIS SUITABLE FOR SENSITIVE SKIN?

If you are on the more sensitive side we would recommend trying our 15% Vitamin C instead as that is a gentler formula.

WHY CAN THIS NOT BE USED WITH NIACINAMIDE OR EXFOLIATING ACIDS?

This is because mixing those ingredients can lead to irriation so we recommend to alternate them.

WHEN USING WITH OTHER PRODUCTS

AHAs (Glycolic, Lactic, Alpha Hydroxy). Both are amazing ingredients that can help with healthy looking skin, however it would be best to use Vitamin C in the AM and an AHA in the PM to avoid increased sensitivity.

CAN I USE IT ALONGSIDE RETINOL?

If using a Retinol in the evening, stick to using Vitamin C in the AM.

WHAT IS THE PH LEVEL OF THIS PRODUCT?

There is not PH level as it doesn't contain water

IS THIS PRODUCT VEGAN?

Yes! This product contains no animal derivatives and is now certified by The Vegan Society.

So far so good!

I’m trying this for the first time today, my aim is to keep pigmentation at bay (I don’t wear foundation, I find it very ageing).

This is the second brand I’ve tried, my previous product worked well with noticeable results but it stung so badly I threw it away.

This serum doesn’t sting at all, I’ve layered it with a peptide topped with an SPF with zero pilling.

Not for my skin

I was hoping to really like this product. Unfortunately, with my darker skintone it leaves a residue.

Hi! Thank you for leaving the review and we're so sorry to hear this! Due to its consistency we recommend to apply a very minimal amount but what can also help is mixing your Vitamin C 30% with the Hyaluronic Acid serum! Alternatively you may want to look at 15% Vitamin C + EGF which has much lighter consistency and does not leave any residue 🖤

Not impressed

I am not using the Vitamin C long enough to say anything about if it brightened my skin, since I did not use it regularly, since the use is really not good: it leaves a smooth out finish (a little like a pore-filling primer), which then seems to dry out my skin and makes my sunscreen pill (Inkey List Mineral SPF). When I used the tip on the boxing against burning skin (mixing the Vit C with Hyaluronic Acid), it helped with the burning, the pilling and the dryed out skin feeling and look. So, I will try to use it up, but I don't think I will buy it again, rather I'd rather repurchase the 15% Vit C+EGF Serum.

Hey Eileen! Thank you so much for your feedback! We really do appreciate it. Please do continue to use up Vitamin C 30% alongside your Hyaluronic Acid! Of course if the skin does consistently burn, please discontinue use 🖤

On the fence

I have previously used the vitamin c serum, loved it but the packaging was horrible (would leak from pump). Tried this as an alternative. It is an odd texture, goes on as a creamv that dries to a powder. Burns my skin, so only use it a few days a week. Not sold.

Hi there! Thank you so much for the review, we really appreciate it! Due to its high potency it may sting on the skin. The great tip to minimise this is to mix your 30% Vitamin C serum with a Hyaluronic Acid. Please give it a go and see how you like it 🖤

Pilling and unabsorbant

I was so excited to try this product, but I've been disappointed. The recommended pea size amount doesn't seem to spread far. As others have shared, the product gathers on my face and pills in little beads and will not absorb into the skin. I waited after applying Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide to make sure both those products had absorbed well and still the Vitamin C wouldn't absorb into my face I had to scrape off the discolored product, not even just with a finger, but either using a cleansing oil or a fingernail. Unless there's some mysterious trick I'm missing I don't feel this product is very user friendly.

Hello Katie! Thank you so much for leaving the review and we are so sorry to hear this! We would absolutely love to help with the best application tips of this product. Because of its high % of Vitamin C we actually advise against using it alongside Niacinamide to avoid irritation. Because the texture is on a thicker side we suggest to only use a small pea size amount and to make it spread better, you may even wish to mix it in with your Hyaluronic Acid! What you may also prefer better is our 15% Vitamin C + EGF as it's lighter texture that absorbs beautifully and can be used alongside your Niacinamide. Please do not hesitate to get in touch further if you ever need any extra help with this product or any other ingredient. 🖤
