5 Ways To Be Smarter With Your Skincare In 2023
Whether you’re feeling burnout from holiday spending, trying to combat the rise of inflation, or looking for ways to be cost-efficient in the new year–we’re sharing our top 5 ways to save money without compromising your skincare routine. Read on to learn more!
1. Embrace simplicity
Consider which products you’re using on a daily basis and think about what you can do to simplify and streamline your current routine. That serum you used once that everyone swears by but is causing you to break out? Toss it, cut out products that aren’t working for your skin, and go back to the basics. Look into products that are multi-use (ie: a night cream that can also be used as a mask). Additionally, and at the heart of our ethos, swap out high-end products for more affordable and effective products.
2. Less is more
Ditch the 10-step routine to save you time, shelf space, and money. The key factors you should focus on in your skincare routine are to clean, hydrate, treat, moisturize, and use SPF. Check out our recipe builder to create a tailormade four-step routine in under two minutes flat!
3. Start skin-cycling!
A concept famously coined by Dr. Whitney Bowe, skin cycling is a four-night process with each night targeting a specific skincare need. Night 1 is focused on exfoliation, night 2 is retinol, and nights 3 and 4 are for letting your skin rest. Rest days are crucial because they will help your skin repair itself from actives while saving product. Read more about Skin Cycling with INKEY products here.
4. Master product layering
It’s one thing to be using the right products and another to be using them correctly. If you layer your skincare products incorrectly, the products will actually start to pill and won’t be as effective. We dive into how to properly layer your skincare here.
5. Don’t overuse your products!
It’s so easy to want to overindulge in certain skincare products because it’s easy to assume the more product you use, the stronger the results will be. But that’s not always the case! Make sure to read the product label to determine the correct amount of product you should be using to make your bottles last as long as they’re intended. Learn how much product to use here.
