Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Body Wash | The INKEY List

Use this glycolic body wash 2–3 times per week in the shower as part of your body cleanse routine. Wet skin thoroughly in the shower. Apply the exfoliating body cleanser using the built-in exfoliating brush head directly onto skin. Work into a lather, massaging in circular motions for 30–60 seconds on target areas. Rinse thoroughly. 

Follow with: A nourishing body moisturiser. Apply SPF on exposed treated areas if going into the sun. 

INKEY Tips:  

For KP bumps (arms, thighs): Focus the brush head on the affected area in circular motions.  

For body breakouts / bacne: Use on your back and chest. The lather helps reach hard-to-access areas. 

For strawberry skin / legs: Use before shaving or hair removal for a smoother result. 

For brighter, more even skin: Use consistently 2–3x per week - your results compound over time.

WHAT DOES THE GLYCOLIC ACID EXFOLIATING BODY WASH DO? It exfoliates dead skin cells in the shower using a dual-acid formula (5% Glycolic Acid + 5% Lactic Acid) to smooth rough body texture, clear strawberry skin, tackle bacne and body breakouts, and brighten dull or uneven body skin. The built-in exfoliating brush head makes application easy and effective across the whole body. 

WHO IS THIS FOR? Anyone dealing with: keratosis pilaris (KP) bumps, strawberry skin, ingrown hairs, body breakouts (bacne), rough or uneven skin texture, or dull body skin. It's especially great if you want an easy, in-shower exfoliation step that fits into your existing routine. 

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I USE IT? Use 2–3 times per week. Start with 2x per week and increase to 3x as your skin adjusts. Most people achieve great results without daily use - consistency is more important than frequency. 

CAN I USE IT EVERY DAY? We recommend 2–3 times per week rather than daily, especially when you first start using it. Over-exfoliating can cause irritation or dryness. Once your skin has adjusted, some people can increase frequency, but 2–3x weekly is the sweet spot for most. 

HOW LONG DOES THE TUBE LAST? At 2 uses per week: approximately 10–14 weeks 

At 3 uses per week: approximately 7–9 weeks 

IS IT A RINSE-OFF OR LEAVE-ON PRODUCT? This is a rinse-off body wash - you apply it in the shower, work it into a lather with the brush head, and rinse clean. No waiting around, no sticky residue. 

WHAT IS KERATOSIS PILARIS (KP)? Keratosis pilaris - also known as "chicken skin" or "strawberry skin" - is a very common condition where keratin protein builds up inside hair follicles, creating rough, bumpy patches on the arms, thighs, bum, and sometimes the back. It's completely harmless but frustrating. The good news: glycolic acid is one of the most effective ingredients for managing KP, as it dissolves the keratin buildup that causes those bumps. This keratosis pilaris body wash does just the job! 

WHAT IS STRAWBERRY SKIN? "Strawberry skin" refers to the appearance of enlarged pores, dark spots, or bumps on the legs - often more visible after shaving. It can be caused by KP, ingrown hairs, or clogged pores. Regular use of a strawberry skin body wash helps smooth texture and reduce the appearance of strawberry skin over time. 

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GLYCOLIC ACID AND LACTIC ACID? Both are AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) exfoliants. Glycolic acid has the smallest molecular size, so it penetrates deeper to dissolve dead skin buildup more effectively - making it particularly powerful for KP and rough texture. Lactic acid is slightly larger, gentler, and also brings moisturising properties. In this formula, they work together: glycolic acid leads the exfoliation, lactic acid supports it and helps condition the skin. 

CAN I USE IT ON MY BACK / BACNE? Yes - the formula in this bacne body wash and brush head are designed to work across the whole body, including the back. It's great for body breakouts and bacne (back acne), helping to unclog pores and smooth skin texture. 

IS THIS SAFE DURING PREGNANCY OR BREASTFEEDING? We recommend checking with your doctor before using AHA-based products during pregnancy or breastfeeding, as guidance can vary. However, wash-off AHA formulas at these concentrations are generally considered lower-risk than leave-on products. 

DO I NEED TO USE SPF AFTER? Yes, AHA acids like glycolic acid can increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun. We always recommend applying SPF to treated areas if they'll be exposed to sunlight. 

CAN I USE THIS ON MY FACE? No, this is formulated for the body. For face exfoliation, use our Glycolic Acid Toner or PHA Toner. 

CAN I USE THIS WITH MY REGULAR SHOWER GEL? IF SO, BEFORE OR AFTER? Yes, before or after, depending on your preference!
